West Bengal assembly passes resolution to change state’s name to ‘Bangla’

The state assembly of West Bengal unanimously passed a resolution on July 26, 2018 to change the state’s name to ‘Bangla’ in all three languages – Bengali, Hindi and English. The move comes almost two years after the West Bengal assembly first passed a resolution to change the name of the State.
